Recycled denim tote bag by The Revival

This bag was made by THE REVIVAL in collaboration with the V&A, out of fabric rescued from landfill, beaches, and Kantamanto, the largest second-hand clothing market in West Africa. Denim is the most common fabric found at these sources. 

THE REVIVAL is a community-led, sustainable, non-profit organisation creating awareness, art, and jobs with upcycled global textile waste coming to Ghana. They turn much of this textile waste into protective workwear for local farmers

THE REVIVAL was founded in 2018 by Yayra Agbofah, a creative social entrepreneur based in Accra, Ghana. The illegal dumping and burning of tons of low-quality clothes from the Global North in Ghana is polluting air, soil and water at an alarming pace. THE REVIVAL collects and repurposes these discarded garments, with an aim to educate a wider audience of the effects of fast fashion and the mindless disposing today’s culture. 

This project gives new life to fabric which would otherwise be discarded. THE REVIVAL invites us to cherish this bag as a piece of wearable art and reflect on the impact of clothing waste across the globe.
 

Large enough to carry all your daily belongs and provided with inner pocket to contain your smaller items. This tote also has a deep base to fit many items.
