OSPAAAL: Solidarity and Design
On now until Wednesday 6 September
A display of revolutionary posters by the Organization of Solidarity with the People of Asia, Africa and Latin America (OSPAAAL)
Explore the colourful imagery that the Organization of Solidarity with the People of Asia, Africa, and Latin America (OSPAAAL) from Cuba used to promote anti-imperialist and revolutionary movements in the Global South.
OSPAAAL was born out of the first Tricontinental Conference, held in Havana, Cuba, in 1966, which brought together more than 80 countries in the Global South. The conference was an important milestone in political solidarity across the continents of Asia, Africa and Latin America, and it championed the liberation struggles of people from these continents, condemning imperialism and colonialism across the globe.
OSPAAAL: Solidarity and Design was curated for the V&A by Donata Miller and Corinna Gardner.
