John Booth Fashion Sketchbook: Colour

Saturday, 30 September 2023

A full day workshop exploring colour with prolific creative John Booth.

Far from a traditional drawing class, join illustrator, ceramicist, designer, and artist John Booth to explore the use of colour in fashion drawing, design sketching and sketchbook practice. In this full day workshop, you’ll use different media to develop confidence in colour use and create bright illustrations inspired by John’s vivid playful style which has seen him collaborate with designers such as FENDI, Paul Smith and Zandra Rhodes.

There will be plenty of materials available to experiment with, but please do bring along your own sketchbook and some basic drawing supplies. You can also pick up supplies from our shop including gorgeous washi tapes, sketchbooks, and other drawing materials.

John is also leading a workshop day focused on experimental techniques on Sunday 1 October. You can explore John’s work further on his website and Instagram.

This workshop will have one free space available for anyone who may find cost a barrier. To book this space, enter ‘MINDFUL’ in the basket and choose the Mindful Museum Pass. The discount will apply at checkout.

This event is part of the public programme inspired by our free exhibition The Fashion Show: Everything But The Clothes, an access-all-areas insight into the world of the fashion show in the pre-digital age. Open now.

Zandra Rhodes, Ashish, Globetrotter, Walter Van Beirendock and Sunspel – John’s list of collaborators is unrivalled.
