Forget-me-not pearl statement necklace by Michael Michaud

Inspired by the intricate elegance of the botanical, Michael Michaud uses a unique approach to create exquisitely detailed and beautiful jewellery. In a process similar to the traditional technique of lost-wax casting, Michaud takes actual leaves, petals and branches and carefully surrounds them in clay. When heated, a perfect mould is left as the plant matter burns away. Bronze casts are then made from the moulds, before being hand-decorated.

Michaud’s natural forms and textures are complimented with soft patinas on bronze, accented with pearls, beads, coral and stones.
